Veeam Backup and Replication is a well known backup solution for both enterprise and home users. This backup solution comes with many great features, professional support and very easy to use. It features backup the physical, virtual as well as the cloud computing. Veeam Backup focused on virtualization and server backup. This backup solution is usable when you are running VMWare vSphere, or Microsoft Hyper-V on your organization.
Today, I got a chance to try the free trial version and will share my thoughts with you. For a complete list of features, I would recommend you to read it here.
Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 Installation
I installed Veeam backup on my Windows 10 Professional. Download the Free trial version ISO and mount it to your computer. Double-click the setup file and the installation wizard will open up.
To start the installation, simply click the Install button. Or, you can also install the standalone component if you want to. Accept the EULA and then you will be asked to enter your license information. Simply press Next and leave it blank to start the free version.
Press Next until reach the following page. As you can see my system does not meet the requirement due to missing some features. But fortunately, the installer can fix it for me.
Once everything checked, we can start the installation
The installation process will take some time.
Once the installation completed, you can start using Veeam Backup.
Veeam Backup and Replication Console
To manage the backup tasks, double-click the Veeam Backup and Replication console. You will need to login using your Windows credentials.
And finally, the Veeam console will open up.
If you are in the free mode, I recommend activating the full version trial. You can try the software for 30 days in full features unlocked. Simply register yourself using business email. You cannot use free email such as gmail, yahoo etc. After you get the license key, simply install it using License menu.
Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5 is a powerful, complete backup solution for home and enterprise. As we mentioned previously, this backup solution focuses on the virtualization infrastructure. If you don’t run any VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V, we would not recommend this backup software for you.
