Syncovery Review
User Interface
We were downloaded and tested the new Syncovery version 7 which is the latest version when this article is being written. We were pretty amazed with the features inside this cloud backup software. This software support many backup destinations which is more than enough for both personal or business users. We can put our laptop, desktop or even our server to the backup list easily. We can backup local drive, external drive or network drive with this software. This program comes with a nice and simple wizard mode which lets us define what to backup and where to save the backup. It also offers Advanced Mode for more control. At first, you may see the client program is a bit complex (advanced mode). But, after you dig it deeper, you will see how powerful it is. No matter you are running Windows, Mac or Linux, the developer covers them all.
Supported Files
You don’t have to worry about file types. Syncovery does not have file type limitation. You can backup everything, any kind of files without problems. It can backup standard files and folders, VMWare Virtual machines, but you cannot backup your Windows system image using this software.
Performance and Security
When performing cloud backup, there are two main things that you should aware. The backup speed/performance and also the security. As far as we test the software, there are no major issues with the performance. Our backup were completely finished with no errors. Also, the transmission is protected with strong encryption technology.
Plan and Pricing
There are several plans available but we only focus on Personal and Professional version. The Personal version you can get for $34.9 and the Pro version is about $59.90. Please note that the standard version does not support FTP and any cloud storage. So if you are willing to backup and sync your data to the cloud, you need Professional version.
Final Thoughts
Syncovery is an ideal software for both personal and business. The features in this backup software are more than enough for standard users. The backup performance also very good. Our only complain was the Standard version which does not include any cloud service. It’s a bit strange because we need at least one cloud backup is supported with this version.
