You don’t need a super powerful computer to run Nethserver. During our test, we can run this server operating system on top of a computer with slightly low specs: 1 GB RAM, 20 GB hard drive and dual-core processor, a network interface card.
The installation process is automatic, which means that it will use the entire hard drive for the installation. We recommend you to separate the disks between the OS and data. The installation process itself took me about 3-4 minutes.
Easy to add features to the server
With the Software Center, we can easily add the functionality to the server. For example, with a few clicks, we can have Owncloud installed on Nethserver. You can then turn your server into a federated file sharing and cloud storage server. Or, you can simply have a file server for your local network.
