How to connect Navicat MySQL to MariaDB Server

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I am going to show you how to connect Navicat MySQL to MariaDB Server. Navicat MySQL is a perfect tool for a database administrator. You can use this software to manage MySQL Servers, backup MySQL database, migrate or transfer database, and many more. Navicat MySQL comes with a simple and user-friendly interface. Navicat MySQL is available for Windows, Mac and also Linux. You can read this post to install Navicat MySQL on Debian 9. The first thing to do after installing Navicat MySQL is to connect this software to our server. In this example, I will show you how to connect Navicat MySQL to MariaDB Server. We can connect to a local server or a remote one.

Connect Navicat MySQL to MariaDB Server

First, open Navicat MySQL and then go to File | New Connection | MariaDB. The new connection window will open up. Click the following image to get better resolution.

 

 

If you are connecting to a remote MariaDB Server, you will need to ensure that your server is accepting a remote connection. You can configure MariaDB/MySQL remote access by following this tutorial. Once connected, you can start managing the MariaDB Server.
